Project Accountant - QualifiedLocation: Altrincham Salary: £54,000 - £60,000 per annum Hours:Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pmHybrid working after 1st 3x months

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Own the monthly project invoicing and revenue billing cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
  • \n
  • Review project timesheets, rate cards and contracts to ensure all billable activity is captured correctly.
  • \n
  • Work closely with Project and Engagement Leads to review project performance, budgets and forecasts.
  • \n
  • Produce and review budget packs, identifying over/underspend, risks and commercial opportunities.
  • \n
  • Facilitate monthly commercial review meetings with key stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Provide financial insight into project profitability, utilisation and revenue optimisation.
  • \n
  • Review project lifecycles and identify opportunities to maximise revenue from existing client contracts.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate project, contract and commercial information within internal systems.
  • \n
  • Support business planning and provide assurance over revenue forecasts and the wider business pipeline.
  • \n
  • Take ownership of invoices and deliverables within strict client SLAs.
  • \n
  • Support year-end and audit requirements relating to project revenue and invoicing.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Operations, Delivery and Project teams.
  • \n
  • Develop into a key Finance representative in client meetings, providing commercial insight and supporting decision-making.
  • \n
  • Support and provide guidance to less experienced members of the wider finance team.
  • \n

Key Skills

\n
    \n
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA fully qualified - newly qualified candidates will also be considered.
  • \n
  • Previous experience within a Project Accountant or similar project-based finance role.
  • \n
  • Experience of project billing models involving staff/labour timesheets, time and materials, fixed-price services and/or licensing.
  • \n
  • Strong experience reviewing contracts, rate cards, project budgets and revenue.
  • \n
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • \n
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Confident using your own initiative, and taking ownership of your work.
  • \n
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
  • \n
