About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Strategic Supply Chain Officer to join BAE Systems at their Warton site.\n
\n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional to work within a high-profile engineering and defence environment, supporting strategic supply chain activities and helping to ensure effective supplier performance, delivery and commercial outcomes.\n
\n Key Responsibilities \n

\n
• Support the development and implementation of strategic supply chain plans and objectives.
\n
• Manage and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
\n
• Monitor supplier performance, including cost, quality, delivery and risk.
\n
• Identify and support opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency and continuous improvement.
\n
• Analyse supply chain data and provide reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
\n
• Support supplier reviews, performance improvement plans and escalation activities.
\n
• Work collaboratively with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, quality and project teams.
\n
• Identify potential supply chain risks and support appropriate mitigation strategies.
\n
• Ensure supply chain activities are aligned with business requirements and contractual obligations.
\n
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the wider supply chain function.
\n

The successful candidate will ideally have:\n
\n

\n
• Previous experience within supply chain, procurement, purchasing or supplier management.
\n
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience working with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
\n
• Good understanding of supplier performance, cost, delivery and risk management.
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
\n
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
\n
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and other business systems.
\n
• Experience within aerospace, defence, engineering or manufacturing would be advantageous.
\n
