As a Group Tax Manager you'll oversee tax compliance and provide strategic advice to ensure the organisation's tax affairs are managed effectively. This is a key role that supports an NFP organisation in navigating complex tax matters while ensuring adherence to relevant regulations

  • Manage the preparation and submission of VAT, Corporation Tax, CIS, Gift Aid and Employment Tax returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • \n
  • Provide tax advice and assess the impact of business decisions from a tax perspective.
  • \n
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisers and HMRC.
  • \n
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax and accounting legislation and advise on any business impact.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and reduce risk.
  • \n
  • Support the wider business with tax and technical accounting queries, projects and new initiatives.
  • \n
  • Act as the main point of contact for HMRC and manage all related correspondence.
  • \n
  • Assist with tax reporting and year-end accounting requirements.
  • \n
  • Strengthen financial controls and drive process improvements across the finance function.
  • \n
  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving issues where required.
  • \n
  • Help develop and implement finance policies and procedures in line with changing regulations and accounting standards.
  • \n
  • Enhance the use of finance systems and reporting capabilities.
  • \n
  • Lead on tax consultations and provide technical guidance across the organisation.
  • \n

Profile

\n

A successful Group Tax Manager should have:

\n
    \n
  • Professional tax or accountancy qualification essential (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of UK tax laws, particularly VAT and corporate tax regulations.
  • \n
  • Proven track record in managing tax compliance and providing strategic tax advice.
  • \n
  • Experience working within the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • \n
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • \n

Job Offer

  • Salary of £75,000 - £80,000, dependent on the level of experience.
  • \n
  • 25 days annual leave.
