Network Engineer - Cisco / CCNPLocation: Bradford, West Yorkshire - with travel across the wider regionContract: 12 monthsRate: £400-£450 per dayIR35: Inside IR35We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join a specialist infrastructure team supporting a complex, highly available network environment within a major UK public sector organisation.This is a hands-on role covering both operational support and project delivery, maintaining the connectivity that underpins critical frontline services. You will work across a varied network estate spanning multiple data centres, on-premises infrastructure and cloud services.The roleYou will provide support across a broad range of network technologies, including Cisco ACI, Nexus and Catalyst switching, Cisco ASA and Firepower, Check Point firewalls, wireless infrastructure, load balancers and reverse proxies, IP address management and voice technologies.The wider environment includes WAN, LAN and campus networks, corporate Wi-Fi, public and private APNs, remote-access and site-to-site VPNs, alongside Microsoft 365 and Azure connectivity.You will also contribute to local, regional and national technology projects, helping deliver resilient IT systems and services within a critical public service environment.What we're looking forYou will ideally hold Cisco CCNP certification, or an equivalent qualification, and have at least three years' experience within a comparable network engineering environment.Strong knowledge across a number of the following areas will be important:Cisco and Check Point firewall rule basesAccess lists, NAT and PATTCP/IP and UDPBGP and OSPF routingPolicy-based routingDNS and DHCPVLANs, trunk ports, port channels and STPCisco ACI, Nexus and CatalystASA and FirepowerWireless LAN Controllers and Access PointsVPNs and IPSecVoIP, including SIP, SBCs and ATAsPKI and certificate managementLoad balancing and reverse proxy technologiesMicrosoft 365 and Azure network connectivityYou will need a methodical approach to troubleshooting, strong analytical skills and the confidence to take ownership of technical issues through to resolution. The role also requires clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.The breadth of the environment means you are not expected to be an expert in every technology listed.
