Cost Controller Major Infrastructure Location: Ipswich / Suffolk (Sizewell C)Competitive Salary + Bonus + Excellent BenefitsWhat's On OfferCompetitive salaryAnnual performance bonusPrivate Medical InsuranceLife Assurance & Income ProtectionEnhanced pension contributionEnhanced sick pay25 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing with service)Buy additional annual leavePaid professional membershipsEmployee Assistance ProgrammeOngoing training and professional developmentLong-term career opportunities within a leading specialist engineering contractorThe Opportunity An industry-leading specialist contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Cost Controller to join one of the UK's largest and most prestigious infrastructure projects.Working within a collaborative alliance environment, you'll play a vital role in maintaining financial control across a major geotechnical programme, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting and cost governance while supporting the successful delivery of nationally significant infrastructure.The Role Reporting into the Finance team, you'll work closely with commercial, project delivery and procurement teams to provide accurate financial reporting, monitor project costs and support commercial decision-making.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced project finance professional with a background in construction, engineering or infrastructure.Key Responsibilities Cost Control & Financial Reporting Monitor project costs against budgets and forecastsPrepare accurate cost reports, forecasts and financial analysisAnalyse cost variances and provide meaningful commercial insightsTrack committed costs, accruals and project expenditureSupport effective financial governance across the projectForecasting & Financial Planning Produce regular project forecasts and cost updatesImprove forecasting accuracy and financial performanceSupport budget planning and financial risk managementIdentify opportunities to improve cost efficiencyAssist project teams with financial decision-makingAudit & Compliance Support internal and external audit activitiesEnsure compliance with project procedures and financial controlsMaintain accurate financial records and supporting documentationAssist with governance and reporting requirementsPromote best practice across financial processesStakeholder Collaboration Work closely with finance, commercial and operational teamsProvide financial insight to support project deliveryBuild strong relationships across multidisciplinary teamsSupport continuous improvement initiativesContribute to lessons learned and process developmentAbout You We're looking for someone with:Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or ICAEWExperience working on major construction, infrastructure or engineering projectsStrong understanding of project cost control and financial reportingKnowledge of NEC contracts and Defined Cost / Disallowed Cost principlesAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsExperience using ERP systems such as Oracle or similarExcellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesDesirable Experience on major infrastructure or nuclear projectsExperience within joint venture or alliance environmentsKnowledge of Oracle E1 or similar ERP systemsPrevious experience working with Tier 1 contractorsExperience supporting commercial and project delivery teamsThis is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's flagship infrastructure projects, where you'll play a key role in maintaining financial performance and supporting the successful delivery of a complex, high-profile engineering programme.TPBN1_UKTJ
