Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join a well-established construction business based in Derby .This is an initial temporary opportunitywith an ASAP start , providing cover and additional support within an established finance team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the current postholder before their planned annual leave, allowing for a full handover and training period.There is genuine potential for the role to be extended or become permanent for the right person, as the business considers the longer-term benefits of having additional support within the finance function.We welcome applications from Purchase Ledger Assistants, Purchase Ledger Clerks, Accounts Payable Assistants, Accounts Payable Clerks, Finance Assistants, Finance Administrators, and Accounts Assistants with previous experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable.Key Responsibilities:Support the day-to-day purchase ledger function and ensure invoices and transactions are processed accuratelyWork alongside the existing postholder to complete a thorough handover and training periodProvide cover during the postholder's two-week period of annual leaveContinue supporting the finance team following the holiday period to ensure a smooth handbackProcess invoices and transactions using the company's finance systemsUse Xero to complete day-to-day accounts payable dutiesFollow established finance processes and proceduresWork closely with the wider finance team to ensure the workload is managed efficientlyAdapt quickly to the company's systems, processes, and ways of workingMaintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail at all timesRequirements:Previous experience working within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable environmentProven ability to manage invoices and accounts payable duties and become productive quicklyExperience using Xero would be highly advantageousCandidates with Sage experience will also be considered, provided they can transfer their knowledge to XeroStrong attention to detail and excellent organisational skillsAbility to learn new systems and processes quicklyFlexible and adaptable approach to workingAvailable to start ASAP to maximise the training and handover periodComfortable working predominantly from the company's office in Pride Park, DerbyAbility to work effectively as part of an established finance teamBenefits:£17 - £20 per hourInitial approximately six-week temporary assignmentPotential for the role to be extended or become permanent5 days a week, in office working patternFull training and handover provided8:00am - 4:30pm working hoursSome flexibility around working hours may be available by agreementOpportunity to join an established construction business and make an immediate impact within the finance functionIf you're interested in this Purchase Ledger Assistant role, please apply online or contact Alex on 07488 866 703TPBN1_UKTJ
