You will interact with customers from the Passive Fire Protection industry every day allowing you the opportunity to educate them as well as learn from them.Job Description Construction Laboratory OperativeFunction:As a Construction Operative at UKTC you will be responsible for the in preparing supporting constructions and installation of clients specimens, along with the general housekeeping and site maintenance within the laboratory and build areas.The Role:Building of supporting constructions in line with the clients requirements and/or the relevant testing standardsSupport in the conducting of fire resistance testing using fire resistance testing furnaceDismantle and disposal of test specimen and supporting construction post-testGood housekeeping of laboratory and all equipmentAny other duties in line with the roleEssential knowledge/skills/experience:Experience within a similar role, ideally in construction or civilsGood joinery and partition building skillsPractical problem solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAn understanding of health & safetyHighly organised and able to work to tight deadlinesDemonstrates a consistent high quality of workDesirable knowledge/skills/experience:Knowledge of the specific risks involved and the technical aspects of the construction processA forklift licence would be an advantageEssential personal attributes:High level of communication skillsDetail conscious, high awareness of the importance of getting the facts rightProactive and highly motivatedAligns with company valuesKey communications:Internal Customers: Head of Testing, Laboratory Operations Manager, Technical Support Staff, Compliance OfficerExternal: Customers, Sub-Contractors, Suppliers, ManufacturersReports to:The Laboratory Operations Manager and Laboratory SupervisorFinancial Management:NoPeople Management:NoQualifications Knowledge of the specific risks involved and the technical aspects of the construction process.A forklift licence would be an advantage.Written and Verbal communicationTPBN1_UKTJ
