Job Description

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of IT within a manufacturing environment. This is a broad, hands-on role covering infrastructure, business systems, cyber security, support and technology projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

\n
    \n
  • Manage day-to-day IT operations across office and manufacturing environments.
  • \n
  • Maintain networks, servers, cloud services, hardware and end-user devices.
  • \n
  • Support and develop ERP/MRP and other business-critical systems.
  • \n
  • Ensure high availability of IT systems supporting production and operations.
  • \n
  • Manage cyber security, access controls, patching, backups and disaster recovery.
  • \n
  • Support manufacturing and shop-floor technology, including OT and industrial systems where applicable.
  • \n
  • Lead IT upgrades, implementations and improvement projects.
  • \n
  • Manage third-party IT suppliers, contracts, licensing and service levels.
  • \n
  • Maintain IT policies, documentation and asset management.
  • \n
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, automation and data.
  • \n
  • Manage IT budgets and recommend future technology investment.
  • \n
  • Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain and senior management.
  • \n

The ideal candidate will have:

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience as an IT Manager or in a similar broad IT role.
  • \n
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering or an operational environment.
  • \n
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking and Microsoft technologies.
  • \n
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure and Active Directory/Entra ID.
  • \n
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP or other operational business systems.
  • \n
  • Good understanding of cyber security and business continuity.
  • \n
  • Experience managing IT suppliers and delivering technology projects.
  • \n
  • Exposure to OT, MES, industrial networks or shop-floor systems would be advantageous.
  • \n
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • \n
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to contribute strategically.
  • \n
