Estates Technician – Electrical (Band 5)West SuffolkBand 5 Temp to perm roleWe’re looking for an experienced Electrical Technician to join a skilled Estates team. This is a varied and technically challenging role where you’ll help maintain the critical engineering systems that support safe, high-quality healthcare across the Trust sites.You’ll use your technical expertise to diagnose complex faults, carry out maintenance and specialist installations, and provide technical advice to colleagues and contractors.What you’ll doDiagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults.Maintain and test critical engineering systems and equipment.Work on power, lighting, generators, nurse call, fire and intruder alarms, UPS/IPS and BMS systems.Undertake specialist installations, planned maintenance and reactive repairs.Support testing and maintenance of decontamination equipment, including washer disinfectors and sterilisers.Undertake Authorised Person (AP) or Competent Person (CP) duties following appropriate training.Provide technical advice and support to Estates staff, trainees and contractors.Support projects, new works and service improvements.Participate in emergency and on-call arrangements.What you’ll bringA recognised electrical trade apprenticeship.C&G/NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline or equivalent.Electrical AM1 and AM2.Previous engineering or building maintenance experience.Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.Good IT, organisational and communication skills.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Experience in an acute hospital environment and knowledge of HTM 01, HTM 03 and HTM 06 are desirable.What we offer£32,073–£39,043 per annumPension Scheme202.5 hours annual leave plus public holidays (pro rata)Training and professional developmentOvertime opportunitiesStaff wellbeing and leisure benefits
