Job Description

The firm is looking to appoint an experienced Mixed Tax Manager to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients, manage a small team and play an important role in the continued development of the firm’s tax offering. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a combination of tax compliance and advisory work, and who is keen to develop the advisory side of their experience within a growing and supportive practice. The Role The successful candidate will have a varied and interesting role, including:\n

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
  • \n
  • Overseeing a range of personal and corporate tax compliance work
  • \n
  • Providing tax advice and supporting clients with their wider tax requirements
  • \n
  • Managing, mentoring and developing members of the tax team
  • \n
  • Reviewing work and ensuring high standards of delivery
  • \n
  • Working closely with the partners and wider accountancy team
  • \n
  • Getting involved in a variety of tax projects and ad hoc advisory assignments
  • \n
  • Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and develop the firm's advisory offering
  • \n
  • Playing an active role in the continued growth of the tax department
  • \n
About You Ideally, you will be CTA and/or AAT qualified, with strong experience gained within an accountancy practice. You will have a good grounding in UK tax compliance, together with some advisory experience and a genuine interest in developing this further. We’re looking for someone who is:\n

  • Experienced in managing a client portfolio

  • Comfortable managing and developing a team

  • Confident dealing directly with clients
  • \n
  • Technically strong across a range of tax matters
  • \n
  • Commercially minded and able to identify opportunities

  • Keen to take on responsibility and contribute to the growth of the practice

  • Looking for a role with variety, autonomy and genuine progression

The Opportunity This is more than simply a portfolio management position. The firm has ambitious plans to expand its tax advisory offering, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a key role in that development. With a mix of compliance, advisory, team management and project work, this is a genuinely varied role with excellent long-term potential.
