The successful candidate will become part of a supportive and experienced criminal defence team, assisting fee earners on a varied caseload and gaining exposure to a wide range of criminal matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting solicitors and fee earners with criminal defence matters.
  • \n
  • Preparing legal documents, correspondence and court bundles.
  • \n
  • Liaising with clients, courts, barristers, police stations and third parties.
  • \n
  • Drafting attendance notes and legal documentation.
  • \n
  • Undertaking legal research and case preparation.
  • \n
  • Managing case files and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • \n
  • Assisting with Magistrates' Court and Crown Court matters.
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate records and case management systems.
  • \n

Requirements

  • Previous experience within criminal law as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar role.
  • \n
  • Strong administration and case management skills.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and client care abilities.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • \n
  • Police Station Accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • \n
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within criminal law.
