Manual Lathe Machinist

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment. The role involves producing precision components from plastic and metal, working from technical drawings and specifications.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes to manufacture precision components from plastic and metal.
\n
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and CAD models.
\n
• Set and adjust machinery, tooling and workpieces to required specifications.
\n
• Carry out grinding, milling and assembly work where required.
\n
• Use hand tools, power tools and machining equipment.
\n
• Inspect components using verniers, micrometers and other measuring equipment.
\n
• Ensure finished components meet required tolerances and quality standards.
\n
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
\n

About You

\n
• Previous experience operating manual lathes.
\n
• Strong understanding of machining principles and engineering drawings.
\n
• Experience with grinding, milling and assembly.
\n
• Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Strong attention to detail.
\n
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
\n
• CAD/SolidWorks experience would be advantageous.
\n

Salary & Hours

£16.50 – £19.50 per hour

Mon - Fri 8am - 4:30pm
