Bury Council are seeking a dynamic People Partner to drive organisational transformation and workforce excellence across our services. This influential role involves working alongside senior leaders to shape people strategy, build organisational capability, and lead meaningful change that impacts our communities.

Day-to-day of the role:

    \n
  • Lead the delivery of HR and OD strategy within a designated department.
  • \n
  • Act as a key decision-maker, contributing to business planning and service performance.
  • \n
  • Provide expert advice on workforce strategy, employee relations, and organisational change.
  • \n
  • Drive culture change, engagement, and leadership development.
  • \n
  • Use workforce data and insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • \n
  • Build strong partnerships with trade unions and key stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across all people practices.
  • \n
  • Take ownership of key corporate initiatives and contribute to the wider People Strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
  • \n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

    \n
  • Significant experience in a senior HR or People Partnering role.
  • \n
  • A strong track record in organisational change and transformation.
  • \n
  • Expertise in employee relations, employment law, and workforce strategy.
  • \n
  • Outstanding influencing, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • \n
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex environments.
  • \n
  • A passion for developing people, driving performance, and improving outcomes.
  • \n
  • CIPD Chartered membership (or working towards) and a relevant degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) are essential.
