Estimator - Fit-Out, Refurbishment & ConstructionLocation: West YorkshireSalary: £45,000 - £60,000 + PackageJob Type: Permanent, Full-TimeThe OpportunityA successful and growing construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join its pre-construction team in West Yorkshire.This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering a diverse range of fit-out, refurbishment and construction projects across the commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and public sector markets.You'll play a key role in securing future work, producing competitive tenders, and working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery from the outset.The RoleReporting to the Head of Pre-Construction, responsibilities will include:

• Preparing accurate and competitive estimates for fit-out, refurbishment and construction projects.
\n
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
\n
• Undertaking detailed take-offs and cost analysis.
\n
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
\n
• Producing tender submissions and pricing documentation.
\n
• Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering options.
\n
• Attending site visits, tender interviews and client meetings.
\n
• Working closely with Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Operations teams.
\n
• Maintaining a strong understanding of market conditions and supply chain pricing.
\n
• Assisting with bid strategy and securing new project opportunities.
\n

About YouApplicants should have:

\n
• Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry.
\n
• Strong knowledge of fit-out, refurbishment and general building projects.
\n
• Experience pricing projects ranging from small works through to multi-million-pound schemes.
\n
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical information.
\n
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
\n
• Commercial awareness and a keen eye for detail.
\n
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
\n

Desirable

\n
• Experience working for a main contractor, fit-out contractor or refurbishment specialist.
\n
• Relevant construction-related qualification.
\n
• Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
\n
• Understanding of JCT contracts and procurement routes.
\n
