Interim School Business Manager - MiddlesbroughContract: Interim / Temporary (approx. 8 weeks, with potential to extend until Christmas or become permanent)Full timeStart date: ASAPSalary/Rate: Competitive - dependent on experience About the RoleHays Education is currently working with a school in Middlesbrough to appoint an experienced Interim School Business Manager to start as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance and operations professional to step into a busy school environment and hit the ground running.Initially offered as an 8-week assignment, there is strong potential for this role to extend until Christmas or develop into a permanent position for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the school, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
\n
• Managing school finances in line with statutory requirements and best practice.
\n
• Supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team with strategic financial planning.
\n
• Overseeing HR, premises, health & safety, and administrative functions.
\n
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
\n
• Line managing support staff and contributing to the smooth running of the school.
\n

Essential Requirements

\n
• Proven experience in a finance or business management role.
\n
• Strong knowledge of financial systems and budget management.
\n
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
\n
• Ability to start immediately and commit to the assignment.
\n
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
\n

Highly Desirable

\n
• Previous experience working within a school or education setting.
\n
• Familiarity with school finance systems (e.g. SIMS, FMS, PS Financials, IRIS Financials, Access Education Finance or similar).
\n
• Knowledge of academy or maintained school financial frameworks.
\n
