Job Description:

We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering fabrication business in Birmingham for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their busy workshop on a temp-to-perm basis, with a permanent position offered to the right candidate after a qualifying period.

This is a varied, hands-on role covering a genuine mix of fabrication work — no repetitive production-line output. You'll be working across stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, producing quality fabricated components and assemblies from engineering drawings.

What you'll be doing:

• Fabricating in stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel
\n
• TIG welding (particularly stainless steel and aluminium)
\n
• MIG welding
\n
• Sheet metal folding and forming
\n
• Guillotine cutting
\n
• Press brake operation
\n
• Rolling/forming sheet materials
\n
• Working accurately from engineering drawings
\n

What we're looking for:

\n
• Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator in an industrial/engineering environment
\n
• Strong TIG welding skills, ideally on stainless and aluminium
\n
• Confident MIG welding ability
\n
• Experience with press brake, guillotine and folding equipment
\n
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings unsupervised
\n
• Good attention to detail and a quality-first approach
\n
