Rigger (Turnaround Project) - Fawley Oil Refinery, Southampton Location: Fawley Oil Refinery, Southampton, Hampshire Duration: 9 Weeks (Turnaround Event) Start Date: 14th September Hours: 60 hours per week (6 x 10-hour shifts) Shift Pattern: Sunday to Friday Rates: Monday - Friday: £42.75/hr CIS Sunday: £76/hr CIS Accommodation: Allowance for non-local candidates About the Opportunity We are currently recruiting experienced Riggers to support a major Turnaround project at Fawley Oil Refinery near Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile shutdown team on a 9-week project within one of the UK's largest and most complex refinery environments. Successful candidates will work as part of a professional lifting and rigging team, carrying out rigging operations safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures and industry best practice. Key Responsibilities Carry out rigging and lifting activities in support of turnaround maintenance works. Install, inspect and remove lifting equipment and rigging gear. Assist with planned lifting operations under the direction of appointed lifting personnel. Ensure all lifting activities are completed safely and in accordance with site regulations. Conduct pre-use inspections of lifting accessories and equipment. Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary shutdown team. Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety compliance at all times.Essential Requirements NVQ Level 3 Rigger qualification/certification or equivalent. Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (or recognised equivalent). Valid UK work authorisation with the right to work in the UK. Previous experience working on refinery, petrochemical, oil & gas, power generation, or industrial turnaround/shutdown projects. Strong understanding of lifting operations and safe working practices. Ability to work safely in a high-hazard industrial environment.Desirable Previous experience at refinery turnaround events. Additional lifting, banksman/slinger or confined space qualifications.
