The Role

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. You will work closely with class teachers and leadership teams to deliver high-quality learning experiences, provide targeted interventions and lead lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of year groups.
  • \n
  • Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
  • \n
  • Leading small group and intervention sessions.
  • \n
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to support pupil progress.
  • \n
  • Creating a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • \n
  • Monitoring and recording pupil achievement and progress.
  • \n
  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs.
  • \n

The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status or has substantial experience in a similar role.
  • \n
  • Has experience working within a primary school setting.
  • \n
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • Is confident leading whole-class learning.
  • \n
  • Has a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • \n
  • Is committed to inclusion and ensuring every child achieves their potential.
  • \n
  • Is flexible, proactive and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
