Purchasing Expeditor & Coordinator
\nLocation: AltonSalary: £33,000 - £38,000 + Benefits
\nWe are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Expeditor & Coordinator to join a growing manufacturing business based in Alton.
\nThis is a key position within the Supply Chain team, focused on ensuring supplier deliveries remain on track and purchase orders are proactively managed from placement through to completion. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to minimise supply chain disruption, maintain accurate delivery information and support the smooth operation of purchasing activities.
\nKey Responsibilities

- Monitor and manage open purchase orders to ensure deliveries meet agreed schedules. \n
- Contact suppliers regularly to obtain order status updates, acknowledgements and delivery confirmations. \n
- Chase overdue orders and proactively identify potential supply risks. \n
- Escalate delivery delays, shortages and supplier issues where required. \n
- Maintain accurate information within ERP/MRP systems. \n
- Produce and update open order reports for internal teams. \n
- Support the resolution of supply chain issues affecting production and operational requirements. \n
- Build strong relationships with suppliers to improve communication and service levels. \n
- Assist with general purchasing administration and procurement activities. \n
- Maintain supplier records, documentation and purchasing data. \n
- Support supplier performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
Candidate Requirements
\n- \n
- Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, supply chain or expediting role. \n
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships and challenge suppliers when necessary. \n
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. \n
- Experience managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment. \n
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel. \n
- Experience using ERP, MRP or purchasing systems. \n
Desirable
\n- \n
- Manufacturing, engineering or distribution industry experience. \n
- Understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes. \n
- Experience supporting Buyers or Purchasing teams. \n
