The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Subsidence Desk Technician to join an established and successful loss adjusting organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within the insurance and subsidence sector. Full training will be provided through a comprehensive two-week Subsidence Academy, making this role suitable for individuals with limited previous subsidence experience.

The Academy will be delivered through a combination of virtual and in person training. Following successful completion of the Academy, the role will be fully home based.

Key Responsibilities

As a Subsidence Desk Technician, your responsibilities will include:

\n
• Providing support to the Subsidence Team and wider business.
\n
• Developing a strong technical knowledge of subsidence claims and applying policy cover, terms and conditions appropriately.
\n
• Undertaking triage calls to identify valid subsidence claims and determine whether site investigations are required.
\n
• Preparing and completing reports within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
\n
• Maintaining high standards of written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
\n
• Processing claims in line with insurer requirements, standards, service levels and complaints procedures.
\n
• Proactively progressing claims through to resolution.
\n
• Reviewing claims, processing amendments and maintaining accurate records within the claims management system.
\n
• Responding positively to changing client requirements and wider business needs.
\n
• Providing a high level of customer service throughout the claims process.
\n

About You

We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, technically minded and keen to develop their career within the insurance industry.

Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience within a similar industry or role, including experience handling difficult conversations.

\n
• Cert CII, Cert CILA, BDMA or a similar relevant qualification is desirable.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
\n
• Strong customer service skills.
\n
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
\n
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
\n
• Strong technical and problem-solving abilities, with a practical approach to identifying solutions.
\n
• The confidence to work independently and make informed decisions.
\n
• A self-motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to be assertive and persistent when required.
\n
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.
\n
• A strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering a quality service.
\n
