  • Expertise in clothing alterations, resizing, restyling, repairs and customisation of garments including bridal, formalwear, partywear, suits, jackets, coats, leatherwear, dresses, skirts, shirts, trousers and jeans.
  • \n
\n

    \n
  • Pattern cutting, grading, garment fitting and precision alteration techniques to achieve bespoke fit adjustments.
  • \n
\n

\n
    \n
  • Knowledge of fabrics, textiles, trims and garment manufacturing techniques, with specific understanding of how different materials respond to alteration and repair processes.
  • \n
\n

\n
    \n
  • Ability to assess garments and determine appropriate repair, reconstruction or redesign solutions.
  • \n
\n

\n
    \n
  • Ability to produce technical drawings, alteration specifications and design modifications for bespoke client requirements.
  • \n
\n

  • Proficiency in fashion design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for design

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years' professional experience in clothing and fashion design, bespoke tailoring, garment production or professional clothing alterations and repairs services.
  • \n
  • Proven experience in altering, resizing, restyling and repairing garments, including bridal wear, formalwear, suits, coats, dresses and everyday clothing.
  • \n
  • Experience in bespoke tailoring and made-to-measure adjustments, ensuring garments are fitted accurately to individual client requirements.
  • \n
  • Experience working closely with tailors, machinists or garment technicians to deliver high-quality finished alterations and reconstructed garments.
  • \n
  • Experience conducting client fittings, assessing garment fit issues, and translating customer requirements into precise alteration and repair outcomes.
  • \n
  • Experience working in a fast-paced alterations or tailoring environment, delivering quick turnaround services while maintaining high quality standards.
  • \n
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design, Clothing Design, Textile Design, Garment Technology, Tailoring or a related discipline; or
  • \n
  • Equivalent professional training and substantial industry experience demonstrating advanced knowledge and practical expertise in garment alterations, tailoring and clothing modification services.

The successful candidates will design, sew, alter, restyle and repair garments to a high professional standard, including bespoke clothing adjustments and customisation services. They will provide expert fitting consultations, assess garment requirements, carry out precision alterations, and ensure high-quality finishing across a wide range of clothing items.
