Job Description
WCS Healthcare is partnering with a large organization nonprofit organization The Hudson Valley. We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to join a team of interdisciplinary professionals at a clinic located in Kingston, NY. Job Duties:
\n- \n
- Review doctor referrals and medical records to determine the need for physical therapy treatment. \n
- Refer individuals to specialty clinics as needed (e.g., adaptive equipment, orthotics, splints, footwear). \n
- Maintain active and up-to-date medical prescriptions in accordance with NYS Department of Health (DOH) and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) regulations, based on assignment. \n
- Evaluate and assess individuals in the following areas:\n
- \n
- Sensorimotor function \n
- Gross and fine motor skills \n
- Musculoskeletal and central nervous system status \n
- Ambulation and mobility \n
- Adaptive equipment needs (e.g., walkers, canes, AFOs) \n
\n - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments. \n
- Administer therapeutic modalities including hydrotherapy, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. \n
- Instruct, motivate, and assist individuals in exercise programs using weights, machines, mats, assistive devices, orthoses, and prostheses. \n
- Provide training to individuals, caregivers, and staff as needed. \n
- Participate in care plan and interdisciplinary team meetings as appropriate. \n
- Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and therapists with limited permits across healthcare centers, day programs, and residential settings. \n
Qualifications:
\n- \n
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor's degree or higher. \n
- Current NYS Physical Therapy License. \n
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy evaluation and treatment techniques. \n
- Ability to supervise PTAs and aides effectively. \n
- Proficient in the use of physical agent modalities and therapeutic exercises. \n
- Familiarity with mobility devices and adaptive equipment. \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office \n
