Job Description
A leading organization in the transportation and supply chain industry is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. This role will support daily transportation operations by coordinating pickup and delivery appointments, monitoring shipment activity, and ensuring a high level of service for both internal and external customers.

This position is covering a maternity leave and is expected to last a least a few months, with the potential to be extended based on business needs. This position will sit onsite and support a schedule of Monday through Friday, 9AM to 6PM

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule pickup and delivery appointments within a designated transportation region
  • Work closely with planning and operations teams to ensure shipments move efficiently through the network
  • Monitor shipment status from pickup through delivery and proactively resolve transportation issues
  • Communicate with customers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams regarding shipment updates and delivery schedules
  • Identify potential service disruptions and take appropriate action to minimize delays
  • Track shipment performance and escalate issues when necessary
  • Maintain detailed and accurate shipment documentation, notes, and customer communications within company systems
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatching, brokerage, supply chain, customer service, or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a time-sensitive setting
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple departments and business partners
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Pay Details: $19.00 to $23.00 per hour
