Position Overview

The Physical Therapist (PT) delivers direct rehabilitation services to patients referred by physicians, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduated from an accredited physical therapy program (BSPT, MSPT, or DPT); those graduating in 2003 or later must possess an MSPT or DPT degree
• Must hold a current license in the applicable state and maintain it in good standing throughout employment
• Preferred one year of experience; however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• CPR certification required upon hire or to be obtained during orientation, with ongoing maintenance of certification during employment

Job Responsibilities

• Engage in community health initiatives and projects as appropriate
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication
• Collaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively address patient needs
• Exhibit proper body mechanics consistently
• Make independent decisions when necessary
• Familiar with the practices, procedures, and regulations governing operations in post-acute care settings
• Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, policies, and procedures
• Demonstrate proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and others
• Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information
• Adhere to organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance
• Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization’s Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training

Core Responsibilities

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans for patients
• Set, evaluate, and adjust realistic, measurable, and functional goals
• Supervise and assess care provided by Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs), Rehabilitation Aides, and PT and PTA students
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
• Utilize therapy software effectively and correctly
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor with patients
• Assist in the safe evacuation of patients when necessary
• Demonstrate reliable and consistent attendance
• Employ reasoning skills and sound judgment in decision-making
• Communicate effectively and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
• Engage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving throughout the workday
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language
