Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Gastroenterologist to become part of our expanding healthcare team. The ideal candidate should be board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology, possessing a strong background in diagnosing and managing disorders related to the gastrointestinal (GI) system, which includes the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.
The Gastroenterologist will primarily focus on outpatient care, conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and treat patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions.
- Carry out procedures including colonoscopies, upper endoscopies (EGD), sigmoidoscopies, polypectomies, and capsule endoscopy.
- Analyze diagnostic tests, such as laboratory results, imaging studies, and endoscopic findings.
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Provide consultation services to fellow physicians and healthcare providers.
- Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about digestive health, preventive strategies, and treatment options.
- Ensure accurate and current medical records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards.
- Engage in staff meetings and continuing education, with a schedule of 3 days in clinic and 2 days dedicated to procedures.
- Participate in a reasonable shared call system with mid-level support available 7 days a week.
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine.
- Completion of a fellowship in Gastroenterology.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology.
- For General GI: Board-certified/board-eligible in Gastroenterology, with an unrestricted Florida State Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
- For Advanced GI: Board-certified/board-eligible in Gastroenterology with advanced training in EUS & ERCP, along with an unrestricted Florida State Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
- A valid and unrestricted medical license in Florida.
- DEA license for prescribing medications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Expertise in endoscopic techniques and management of complex GI conditions.
- Dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
