CT Technologist

Position Overview:
This role involves conducting routine CT imaging examinations, both on a scheduled and emergency basis, while adhering to departmental Quality Control and Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine CT imaging examinations as needed, whether scheduled or urgent.
• Evaluate requisitions for CT imaging procedures, extracting relevant data from patient records to assess the appropriateness of the prescribed procedures based on diagnoses and clinical indicators.
• Verify patient identity in accordance with hospital policies using two identifiers.
• Perform basic imaging analyses, including 3D imaging.
• Select suitable equipment and technical parameters to accurately identify both pathological and normal anatomy.
• Assess the physical and emotional condition of patients and their guardians, tailoring plans to meet their specific needs.
• Clearly explain the examination process and address any questions from patients and their families regarding the procedure and radiation exposure, adhering to ALARA principles.
• Consistently deliver outstanding care and service.
• Adhere to departmental Quality Control and Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
• Engage in High Reliability Training practices.

Patient and Family Engagement:

• Recognize the individual needs of patients, fostering a supportive atmosphere for both patients and their families.

Equipment Management:

• Identify and report any equipment malfunctions promptly.

Operational Support:

• Assist in the organization and maintenance of daily operations within the section.

General Duties:

• Participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
• Adhere to ETU guidelines.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations.

Professional Growth:

• Pursue ongoing professional education and stay informed about current regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Keep licensure, certification, and registration current in departmental records.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
An Associate's degree in Allied Health is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience:
At least one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist is necessary.
Licensure/Certifications:
1. RT/CT certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) is required.
2. Must successfully complete and maintain ARRT certification.
3. BLS certification is mandatory.
