Job Overview:

Compensation starts at $31.50 per hour, with our drivers earning between $70,000 and $75,000 annually, including overtime. We offer regular pay increases every six months for the first two years, followed by annual raises. Overtime is compensated for hours worked beyond 40 in a week.

Shift Details:

• One overnight shift per week, with accommodations provided in a hotel—no sleeper cabs required—and a per diem for meals.
• After full onboarding, there may be opportunities for up to two overnight shifts per week based on business needs.
• No weekend shifts are required!

Role Summary:

As a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver, you play an essential part in maintaining the nation’s food supply chain. You ensure that products reach customers on time and in excellent condition, while also representing our organization and fostering strong relationships with clients.

The Hourly CDL-A Driver is tasked with operating a tractor-trailer or straight truck for local and interstate deliveries, including over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. This role involves delivering and unloading food and related products safely and promptly, adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will engage professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues, ensuring all inquiries are addressed accurately and promptly. Teamwork is essential, and you will perform various duties as assigned to support the organization effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct all necessary safety inspections (pre/post trip) of the tractor/truck and trailer in compliance with DOT regulations, ensuring they meet safety standards and reporting any issues.
• Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving policies.
• Promptly report any safety hazards and verify that freight is loaded and secured correctly.
• Perform item counts and verify customer invoices for loaded products, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and legibly.
• Position the tractor at the loading dock and attach preloaded trailers as necessary.
• Follow predetermined delivery routes to transport customer orders, unloading products into designated storage areas.
• Check for damages, scan items, and communicate with supervisors regarding any orders that need to be removed per company policy. Confirm deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures, collecting payments when required.
• Load customer returns onto the trailer and secure the trailer doors, ensuring all equipment is locked and secured.
• Unload damaged goods and returns, completing required paperwork and clearing out trailers as needed.
• Maintain a daily log of service hours in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area, ensuring trailers are kept clean and organized. Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of each shift.
• Carry out additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A minimum of 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL-A license; candidates must be at least 21 years old.
• Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements (if applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
• Successful completion of a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Passing a road test is required.
• Possession of a valid DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
• Capability to lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move and stack product cases of varying sizes and weights, typically ranging from 10 to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 to 90 pounds, depending on the location.
