Pediatric Registered Dietitian II (Per Diem)

Position Overview
Our organization is committed to delivering thorough nutrition evaluations for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, which are vital for creating personalized care strategies for various health conditions. We are seeking a per diem Pediatric Registered Dietitian to offer fundamental nutritional support to patients in designated inpatient units. This position entails analyzing medical, biochemical, and nutritional data to determine patient requirements and formulate suitable nutrition care plans. Additionally, the dietitian will play a role in overseeing the daily activities of the dietetic technician.

This per diem role will be scheduled as needed. Ideal candidates should be available for approximately 2–3 shifts weekly to meet departmental coverage requirements.

The position includes participation in a weekend rotation, generally averaging 6–8 weekends annually, although this may fluctuate based on staffing necessities and operational demands.

The training phase lasts about 3 months, with the duration tailored to individual learning needs and progress. During this training, candidates should ideally be available 5 days a week to facilitate timely onboarding and skill enhancement. A minimum availability of 3 days per week is required during training to ensure a smooth orientation and transition to independent practice.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver fundamental nutritional care to patients in assigned inpatient units.
• Analyze medical, biochemical, and nutritional data to evaluate patient needs.
• Create and execute appropriate nutrition care plans.
• Assist in managing the daily tasks of the dietetic technician.

Essential Qualifications:
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics

• Over 3 years of progressive experience in Dietetics, including at least 2 years focused on pediatric nutrition

• Registered Dietitian credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing body of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Licensed Dietitian in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
