JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is seeking a Safety Manager to assist the Division Safety Manager and other safety coordinators to ensure the team meets all safety requirements. This position will be in the field and on site in Washington DC to help manage and coordinate all division safety activities

  • Tours and inspects small, mid-size or large, complex job sites to ensure compliance with company, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Reports concerns to safety management. Ensures Enforcement of OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures.
  • Provides recommendations for correcting non-compliance issues. Ensures cited issues are corrected within designated timeframe.
  • Maintains all site required documentation related to safety issues, including accident reports, inspection reports and training logs.
  • Develops current and future loss control strategies and implements corrective actions to prevent similar incidents. – Provides emergency response to employees as needed.
  • Participates in and documents information for the investigation of accidents and injuries and submits data to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Contributes to updating training materials and manages employee training as necessary.
  • Acting as a lead, guides less-experience safety roles as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience working as a safety manager in a construction environment
    • MEP/Mechanical experience
    • Experience within commercial or mission critical environments
  • Must be able to successfully pass a BC & DT
  • Excellent working knowledge of health and safety management systems; OSHA CFR 1926 standards or the state construction safety regulations

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • CHST or other related safety certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health or Environmental Applied Sciences is required OR Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certification
  • OSHA 10hr and OSHA 30hr
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications

Compensation: $110,000-$135,000.

Schedule: Onsite in Washington, DC.
