Parkview Health and the Packnett Family Cancer Institute (PFCI) is actively recruiting a board eligible/board certified microvascular fellowship-trained plastic surgeon with specialty interest in complex oncologic reconstruction to join our team in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Summary of the Role

  • Microvascular and general reconstructive surgeries for patients treated at the regions premier cancer center
  • \n
  • Clinic location in the Packnett Family Cancer Institute, surgeries performed at adjacent the Parkview Regional Medical Center
  • \n
  • General plastic surgery call responsibilities with call frequency of 1:5
  • \n
  • Highly competitive salary plus annual incentive compensation bonus

The Team

\n
    \n
  • The microvascular-trained plastic surgeon will join and support oncologic surgeons in the PFCI, including surgical oncology, breast surgical oncology, orthopedic oncology, colorectal surgery, gynecologic oncology and Mohs surgery.
  • \n
  • A full complement of supportive services including advanced practice providers, nurses, nurse navigation, nutrition and cancer rehabilitation.
  • \n
  • Interact and collaborate with the general plastic surgeons at Parkview Health.
  • \n

Oncologic Plastic Surgery at the PFCI

\n
    \n
  • Candidate must be able to perform a wide breadth of reconstructions that arise from oncologic treatments, including:\n
      \n
    • Oncoplastic reconstructions following breast conservation therapy
    • \n
    • Breast reconstructions following mastectomy, including DIEP flaps
    • \n
    • Local tissue transfer and free flap reconstruction of soft tissue defects
    • \n
    • Tissue replacement following major pelvic extirpations (such as pelvic exenteration)
    • \n
    • Local tissue transfers and complex closures following Mohs surgery
    • \n
  • \n
  • Busy surgical services in need of microvascular plastic surgery support
  • \n
  • Practice location will be the Packnett Family Cancer Institute located at 11050 Parkview Circle, Fort Wayne, IN 46845
  • \n
  • The PFCI is housed in a 200,000 square foot free-standing building located on the campus of the Parkview Regional Medical Center.
