Job Overview:The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will support the nuclear physician in executing specialized imaging procedures.
Qualifications:Required:
- Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
- Possession of a valid New Jersey State license.
- Certification from ARRT and/or NMTCB.
- Current BLS certification.
Preferred:
- At least two years of experience as a staff technologist in a hospital setting.
- NMTCB Fusion Certification or ARRT R, CT certification is preferred.
- This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week during the day.
Responsibilities include:
- Adhering to standards set by the hospital and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Completing special assignments from the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Assisting the nuclear physician with specialized imaging procedures.
- Ensuring all tests are conducted accurately and results are validated before patient release.
- Calibrating dose calibrators and performing quality control on gamma cameras according to departmental protocols, promptly reporting any issues to the lead technologist.
- Clearly explaining procedures to patients, including wait times, and ensuring their comfort while obtaining optimal images using specified technical parameters.
- Identifying patients (both inpatient and outpatient) according to hospital standard operating procedures before initiating any procedures.
- Carrying out all hot lab functions, including the handling of radiopharmaceuticals, in strict compliance with vendor, departmental, and regulatory guidelines.
