Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement is required
  • Demonstrated experience or understanding of IEP process and special education best practices
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse needs and learning styles
  • Strong collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
  • Enthusiasm for working primarily with elementary students, with occasional middle school involvement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with varying needs
  • Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor progress and adjust supports as necessary
  • Create a safe, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
