The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) operates under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to execute personalized treatment plans aimed at helping residents attain their maximum level of independence and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Administer occupational therapy interventions as specified in the resident’s care plan.
- Accurately document resident progress and treatment results in a timely manner.
- Relay updates on resident status and therapy progress to the interdisciplinary team.
- Assist residents in enhancing functional mobility, daily living activities (ADLs), and adaptive skills.
- Observe and report any changes in resident conditions.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and facility regulations.
- Engage in care planning meetings and discussions with the therapy team.
- Guarantee resident safety and dignity throughout all therapy sessions.
- Valid Colorado Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing.
- Preferred prior experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
