Summary: \n

\nA currently enrolled nursing student providing a wide variety of services to the customer under the direct supervision of Nursing.\n
\n
Responsibilities: \n
\n

\n
• Collects and documents patient data: Obtain/chart initial and routine vital signs, height, weight, and I&O's. Coordinates care activities in order to provide for optimal care and/or activities within assigned caseload.
\n
• Provides patient care and activities appropriate to age, cultural, and religious beliefs, and any barriers to understanding.
\n
• Complies with Regional departmental policies, adheres to break and lunch schedules, follows associate parking guidelines, adheres to personal business policy, uses time clock correctly.
\n
• Communicates with other team members, seeks assistance and clarification of assignments as needed, shares input from patient/family with appropriate team member.
\n
• Performs other duties appropriate to the position as assigned or requested.
\n

Requirements: \n
\n
Education/Skills\n
\n

\n
• Currently enrolled in a RN degree program, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (must provide unofficial transcript)
\n
• Must not be on academic probation and in good standing with current nursing program
\n
• Must provide letter of recommendation from a nursing instructor.
\n
• Must submit a 500-word essay identifying why they chose the field of nursing and how they apply the CHRISTUS Core Values to their individual practice.
\n

Experience\n
\n

\n
• Must have successfully completed both a "Fundamentals of Nursing" and at least one first-level Medical-Surgical course
\n

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
\n

\n
• AHA BLS certification required
\n
