Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – 3 North
\nNote: Extended contracts through holidays required.

- Full Time: 36 hours per week 2 on-call shifts every 4 weeks \n
- Day/Night variable shifts \n
Role Summary
\nThe Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient's episode.
\nThe RN on 3 North develops specialized skill in the area of patient admitted for medical conditions, providing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations. The 3 North RN is accountable for patient/family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The 3 North Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a Healing Environment.

- Seeks "teachable" moments during the care delivery process to emphasize pertinent information \n
- Asks questions to evaluate retention of key points in the self-care process \n
- Provides tools and information to assist the patient's family after discharge \n
- Documents the education provided and the patient/family response to the education \n

Occupational Exposure

- Minimum two (2) years' experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse \n
