Position Overview and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused care that aligns with departmental needs and adheres to the standards of practice relevant to the state and specialty. Working alongside medical professionals and other team members, the RN provides tailored, comprehensive, and compassionate care by utilizing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN acts as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes, thereby contributing to overall departmental success.

• Regularly evaluates patient pain to ensure effective pain management, including follow-up assessments after interventions.
• Executes procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring timely and thorough documentation in the patient’s medical record.
• Delivers outstanding care by promptly addressing patient requests and proactively anticipating their needs.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up care, simplifying complex medical language for better understanding.
• Instructs patients and families on non-pharmacological follow-up measures, such as healthy lifestyle choices, disease prevention, and self-management strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting employment.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training must be completed within 6 months of starting employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course certification must be acquired within 6 months of starting employment.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 6 months of starting employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be completed within 90 days of starting employment.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
