QUALIFIED HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT ABOUT THE SCHOOL Prospero Teaching is seeking a Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form-entry primary school in Cheam, Sutton. The school is diverse and inclusive, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with a range of abilities and needs.The successful HLTA will support high-quality teaching and learning, deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and assist with SEND, behaviour, and classroom management. The role is open to experienced HLTAs and Level 6 Teaching Assistants with a recognised qualification or equivalent. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS Location: Cheam, Sutton Position: Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant Type of Work: Supporting and leading learning, delivering interventions, 1:1 and small-group support, SEND support, and behaviour/classroom management Start Date: September 2026 Contract Type: Full Time Rate of Pay: GBP115 - GBP145 per day (depending on experience and qualifications) Hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (term time only) EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS Recognised Level 6 Teaching Assistant, HLTA, education, childcare or equivalent qualification Previous experience as a TA, HLTA, SEN TA or Learning Support Assistant in a primary school Experience supporting or leading learning activities with individuals, small groups and whole classes Experience delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupil progress Experience supporting pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs and SEMH Ability to work effectively with class teachers and contribute to planning, preparation, assessment and pupil progress Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection Up-to-date Safeguarding Training desirable GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal and behaviour management skills Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and provide consistent support TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS registered with the online update service Provide two professional child-related references covering at least the last two years Hold a recognised Level 6 or equivalent relevant education qualification OTHER To be considered for this Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant role, please apply with an up-to-date CV.
