Principal / Associate Civil EngineerNorwichSalary: Competitive, depending on experienceLead, influence and shape the future of civil engineering.We're partnering with a well-established, design-led engineering consultancy based in Norwich, recognised for its technical excellence, collaborative culture and innovative approach to engineering.With a growing portfolio of major projects across the residential, retail, logistics and technology sectors , they are continuing to expand their civil engineering capabilities and are now looking to appoint a Principal / Associate Civil Engineer to play a senior role within the business.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineer who is looking to take greater ownership of projects, build strong client relationships and have a genuine influence on the direction and development of a growing team.You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility and due diligence through to detailed design and delivery, while also providing technical leadership and supporting the continued development of the civil engineering team.The RoleLead and oversee the delivery of complex civil infrastructure projects across the UK and EuropeProvide technical leadership across highways, drainage, flood risk, utilities and infrastructure designTake responsibility for the quality, programme and commercial performance of projectsAct as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong working relationshipsLead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplinesReview and approve technical reports, drawings, specifications and detailed design packagesProvide technical guidance, mentoring and support to engineers across the teamTake an active role in project planning, programming, resourcing and fee managementContribute to bids, fee proposals and business development opportunitiesIdentify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new workSupport the continued growth and development of the civil engineering teamEnsure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, regulations and best practiceRepresent the business at client meetings, project meetings and industry events where appropriateWhat We're Looking ForDegree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineSignificant experience within a civil infrastructure design consultancyStrong technical knowledge across highways, drainage, flood risk and infrastructure designExperience leading projects and providing technical direction to other engineersStrong understanding of the commercial and contractual aspects of consultancy projectsProven experience managing client relationships and working with multidisciplinary teamsExperience with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD and BIM workflowsChartered Engineer status ( CEng ) or equivalent professional qualificationExcellent communication, report writing and presentation skillsCommercially aware with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to business developmentConfident managing your own workload while providing leadership and support to othersExperience in Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and due diligenceFamiliarity with Eurocodes and international project stages such as RIBA/HOAI would be advantageousWillingness to travel occasionally across EuropeWhy This Opportunity Stands OutOpportunity to take a senior leadership position within a growing civil engineering teamGenuine scope to influence projects, clients and the future direction of the businessDiverse portfolio of major residential, retail, logistics and technology projects25 days holiday + public holidays + birthday leaveOption to buy/sell up to 5 additional daysPrivate medical insurance for you and your familyBupa cash plan7.5% employer pension contributionCycle to work schemeAnnual professional membership fees paidOngoing professional development and trainingSupportive, collaborative culture with genuine long-term career progressionIf you're an experienced Principal Civil Engineer, Associate Civil Engineer or Senior Civil Engineer ready to step into a more senior position , this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career with a consultancy where your technical expertise and ideas will genuinely be valued.Apply now or contact Will Herman on 07581 619823 for a confidential discussion.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
