The opportunity

  • Role: Digital Developer (Frontend)

  • Location: Exeter - typically 1-2 days per week on site

  • Duration: Initial 6-month contract

  • Rate: Around £600/day (Umbrella)

  • Security:SC cleared or SC eligible (for a government agency)

What you'll be working on

\n
    \n
  • Developing responsive, accessible UIs using Next.js, React, TypeScript
  • \n
  • Collaborating with design and product teams to create intuitive, user-centred experiences
  • \n
  • Building frontends that integrate with internal APIs and search indexes
  • \n
  • Taking part in code reviews, testing, debugging and continuous improvements
  • \n
  • Maintaining and enhancing existing applications, diagnosing and resolving issues
  • \n
  • Contributing to technical documentation and helping shape project requirements
  • \n
  • Implementing and working with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • \n

Tech stack & skills

\n
    \n
  • Strong experience as a Frontend Developer
  • \n
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript plus React and Next.js
  • \n
  • Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend tooling
  • \n
  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch and SQL-like databases
  • \n
  • Good understanding of Git and collaborative workflows
  • \n
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS) and deployment strategies
  • \n
  • Comfortable working in an Agile, cross-functional team
  • \n

Nice to have

  • Experience with PyGeoAPI or GIS-related work
  • \n
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • \n
\n
