Assistant Quantity Surveyor Up to £55,000 + PackageFarringdon / West LondonOverviewA leading London main contractor is looking for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team, based from its Farringdon office and working on a prestigious redevelopment project in West London. This is a rare opportunity to work on a genuinely unique, high-profile scheme involving the transformation and refurbishment of an iconic London property for a private client. The project combines complex refurbishment, high-specification interiors and specialist spaces, making it an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to gain strong project exposure and progress towards Quantity Surveyor level.The OpportunityWorking closely with an experienced Senior QS and wider project team, you'll support the commercial management of the scheme from procurement through construction and final account. You'll gain exposure across the full commercial process, including:\n

• Subcontractor procurement and tender analysis
\n
• Preparing and issuing subcontract packages
\n
• Cost reporting and budget management
\n
• Valuations, variations and change control
\n
• Subcontractor payments and account management
\n
• Measurement and take-offs
\n
• Supporting project forecasting
\n
• Assisting with final accounts
\n
• Working closely with the site and project management teams
\n
• Liaising with subcontractors, consultants and the wider client team
\n

You'll be based from the contractor's Farringdon office, with regular involvement on the West London project. • Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
\n
• Main contractor experience preferred
\n
• Refurbishment / fit out experience would be advantageous
\n
• Experience assisting with procurement and subcontractor packages
\n
• Good understanding of valuations, variations and cost reporting
\n
• Confident with measurement and take-offs
\n
• Strong Excel and general IT skills
\n
• Commercially aware and comfortable working with numbers
\n
• Good communication and organisational skills
\n
• Ambitious and keen to progress towards Quantity Surveyor level
\n
• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management preferred
\n
