Academics are recruiting for a full-time Pastoral Support Worker to join a popular and highly regarded secondary school in Halifax, starting in September.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll be working closely with secondary-aged students, providing pastoral and emotional support and helping pupils to engage positively with school.

The successful candidate will be someone who is:

• Confident supporting young people with mental health and emotional wellbeing
\n
• Experienced in managing and responding to challenging behaviour
\n
• Calm, patient and reassuring, even in difficult situations
\n
• Positive, approachable and able to build strong relationships
\n
• A confident communicator who can work effectively with pupils, staff and families
\n
• Passionate about making a genuine difference to young people's lives
\n

? EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL

You must have experience working with secondary-aged children, either within a secondary school environment or a similar setting such as youth work, mentoring or other relevant support work.
