Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer\n
Location: Cambridge (On-Site Working)\n
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Bonus & Benefits (Depending on Experience)\n

Overview:\n
\nAn opportunity has arisen with a repeat client who are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing engineering team developing embedded software for next-generation electronic control systems.\n
\nA successful candidate will be working closely with experienced software, systems and hardware engineers to deliver high-quality solutions and contribute to exciting new technologies.\n
\nThis role is ideal for someone with 1+ year of commercial experience looking to make their first career move, with the opportunity to take ownership, develop their skills and contribute to new products and technologies within a growing engineering function.\n
Key Responsibilities:\n
\n
    \n
  • Develop and maintain embedded software for prototype and production systems.
  • \n
  • Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to implementation, testing and deployment.
  • \n
  • Develop embedded C software and reusable libraries/components across multiple products.
  • \n
  • Plan and execute software testing, verification and validation activities.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with software, systems and hardware engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • \n
  • Follow and contribute to engineering, quality, safety and cybersecurity processes and standards.
  • \n
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to continuous improvement of development and testing processes.
  • \n
Required Skills & Experience:\n
\n
    \n
  • Commercial experience developing embedded software within a regulated environment.
  • \n
  • Strong C programming skills, ideally in safety-critical embedded applications.
  • \n
  • Good knowledge of MISRA C and embedded software development best practices.
  • \n
  • Experience with 32-bit CPUs, FPUs, interrupts, peripherals and real-time programming.
  • \n
  • Experience developing device drivers
  • \n
  • Understanding of software development, testing and quality processes.
  • \n
  • Experience with communication and development tools, such as Vector tools.
  • \n
