QUALIFIED HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT
\nABOUT THE SCHOOLProspero Teaching is seeking a Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form-entry primary school in Richmond Upon Thames, South West London. The school is diverse and inclusive, with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with a range of abilities and needs.
\nThe successful HLTA will support high-quality teaching and learning, deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and assist with SEND, behaviour and classroom management.
\nThe role is open to experienced HLTAs and Level 6 Teaching Assistants with a recognised qualification or equivalent.
\nCONTRACT/POSITION DETAILSLocation: Richmond Upon Thames, South West LondonPosition: Qualified Higher Level Teaching AssistantType of Work: Supporting and leading learning, delivering interventions, 1:1 and small-group support, SEND support, and behaviour/classroom managementStart Date: September 2026Contract Type: Full TimeRate of Pay: GBP £115 - £145 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)Hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
\nEXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONSRecognised Level 6 Teaching Assistant, HLTA, education, childcare or equivalent qualificationPrevious experience as a TA, HLTA, SEN TA or Learning Support Assistant in a primary schoolExperience supporting or leading learning activities with individuals, small groups and whole classesExperience delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupil progressExperience supporting pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Speech and Language Needs and SEMHAbility to work effectively with class teachers and contribute to planning, preparation, assessment and pupil progressStrong understanding of safeguarding and child protectionUp-to-date Safeguarding Training desirableGCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal and behaviour management skillsAbility to build positive relationships with pupils and provide consistent support
