Maintenance Operative – Student AccommodationLocation: Cardiff City CentreSalary: £15.00 per hourHours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pmDuration: Minimum 4 weeksStart Date: ASAPPertemps are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to work within student accommodation based in Cardiff City Centre on a temporary assignment for a minimum of 4 weeks.This is a hands-on role suited to someone with good practical skills who is confident carrying out general maintenance, repairs and upkeep across the accommodation.Key responsibilities:\n

\n
• Carrying out checks of vacant student rooms and identifying any maintenance issues
\n
• Painting and touching up rooms where required
\n
• Completing general repairs and fixing damaged or broken items
\n
• Responding to leaks and other maintenance issues
\n
• Helping with the movement of bins and general site duties
\n
• Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs across communal areas
\n
• Preparing rooms and accommodation areas to a high standard
\n
• Reporting any issues that require specialist attention
\n
• Supporting the wider accommodation team with general duties as required
\n

The ideal candidate will have:\n

\n
• Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, handyman or similar practical role
\n
• Good general DIY and repair skills
\n
• Painting and decorating experience would be advantageous
\n
• A practical, can-do attitude
\n
• Good attention to detail
\n
• The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
\n
• Good communication skills and a professional approach
\n
