Maintenance Operative Peterlee£13.00 per hourTraining Shift: Monday to Friday, 10.00am - 6.00pmPermanent Shift: Monday to Friday, 2.00pm - 10.00pmWe have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Peterlee.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within engineering and maintenance. The role would suit someone with experience working in a manufacturing environment, or someone who has recently completed an engineering course and is looking to develop their skills.Working alongside an experienced maintenance team, you will support the day-to-day upkeep of production machinery by carrying out routine checks, preparing equipment and materials for maintenance tasks, and ensuring technicians have everything they need to complete planned work.Full training will be provided, with genuine opportunities to progress into a Maintenance Technician role.The Role Following an initial training period on days, you will move onto a permanent Monday to Friday back shift, working as part of the maintenance team.Your duties will include:Supporting the maintenance team with planned maintenance activitiesPreparing parts, tools and materials ready for maintenance tasksCarrying out routine visual checks on machineryChecking machine components including knives, motors and other mechanical partsCarrying out basic lubrication checks and topping up oils and greases where requiredMonitoring stock levels of maintenance consumables and spare partsAssisting Maintenance Technicians with planned maintenance workCleaning and maintaining machinery and equipmentIdentifying and reporting any defects or potential issuesEnsuring all work is carried out safely and in line with company proceduresEssential Requirements Experience working within a manufacturing, production or engineering environmentGood mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learnReliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethicAbility to work the required shift patternOwn transport or the ability to travel to site for the required shift timesDesirable Experience Engineering qualification (Level 1 or above)Experience carrying out basic mechanical checksPrevious machine operating or maintenance experienceRecently completed an engineering or mechanical courseWhat's on Offer? £13.00 per hourFull training providedMonday to Friday training shift (10.00am - 6.00pm)Permanent Monday to Friday back shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm) after trainingExcellent opportunities to progressLong-term career with a successful manufacturing businessPaid breaksDue to the high volume of candidates responding to our adverts, unfortunately we are not always able to provide individual feedback.
