The Role:

\n

Deliver hands-on engineering support to the OpNET programme, designing, building, and automating VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platforms.

\n

We are seeking an experienced VMware VCF/Virtualisation Engineer to design, build, automate and support enterprise virtualisation and software-defined infrastructure within a secure/regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities\n
\n
\n

\n
• Design, deploy and manage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platforms.
\n
• Implement and support vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, VCF Operations, VPC and VKS.
\n
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and API-driven automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerCLI or SaltStack.
\n
• Support platform life cycle activities including builds, upgrades, patching, scaling and operational handover.
\n
• Integrate virtualisation platforms with enterprise networking, DNS, identity and DevOps/CI/CD services.
\n
• Translate architecture designs into secure, automated and deployable solutions.
\n
• Produce LLDs, build guides and operational runbooks.
\n
• Support integration, testing, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
\n
• Ensure solutions follow secure-by-design, hardening and organisational security standards.
\n

\nEssential Skills\n
\n
\n

\n
• Strong VMware experience across vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
\n
• Proven experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and SDDC technologies.
\n
• Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code experience.
\n
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, PowerCLI or similar.
\n
• Knowledge of enterprise networking and services including DNS and load balancing.
\n
• Experience integrating platforms with DevOps and CI/CD toolchains.
\n
• Experience working in secure or regulated environments.
\n
• Strong technical documentation, troubleshooting and communication skills.
\n
