Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

We are working with a number of welcoming and inclusive secondary schools across Croydon seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, or individuals with relevant support work experience looking to make a positive impact in a secondary school setting.

The Role

\n

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

    \n
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs
  • \n
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • \n
  • Support students with academic, social and emotional development
  • \n
  • Help implement EHCPs and targeted intervention strategies
  • \n
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence and independence
  • \n
  • Promote positive behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals
  • \n

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

\n
    \n
  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN, either in an educational or care setting
  • \n
  • Are patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people
  • \n
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • \n
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • \n
  • Are adaptable and able to respond to the individual needs of students
  • \n
  • Have a genuine interest in education and inclusion
  • \n
\n

Previous experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs or learning difficulties would be advantageous but is not essential.
