\nThe Opportunity\n
We're looking for an experienced Front End Developer to build intuitive, secure and role-aware interfaces for a next-generation Defence Intelligence platform.
\nYou'll work closely with UX Designers, Back End Developers and wider delivery teams to turn complex operational requirements into accessible, maintainable and high-performing applications that improve visibility, streamline workflows and support users in a mission-critical environment.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work on modern digital capabilities within a highly secure Defence environment.
About the Programme\nThis programme is delivering an AI-enabled Defence Intelligence capability designed to improve visibility of operational information, reduce administrative burden and support faster, more informed decision-making.
\nAs part of an agile, multidisciplinary team, you'll help deliver modern Front End applications that integrate with secure Back End services and existing Defence platforms.
Key Responsibilities\n\n

- Develop and maintain Front End applications using React and TypeScript. \n
- Build reusable UI components aligned with a coherent design system and component library. \n
- Work closely with UX Designers to translate user journeys, wireframes and prototypes into production-ready interfaces. \n
- Integrate Front End applications with REST APIs, workflow services and identity/access mechanisms. \n
- Develop role-aware dashboards, task views, status tracking and operational work queues. \n
- Apply accessibility, responsive design and usability best practices. \n
- Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint delivery, demonstrations and user feedback sessions. \n
- Contribute to Front End testing, quality assurance and continuous improvement. \n
\nEssential Skills & Experience\n

\n
- \n
- Demonstrable experience delivering software within MOD, Defence, National Security or similarly secure environments. \n
- Strong commercial React development experience. \n
- Strong TypeScript capability. \n
- Experience consuming REST APIs and collaborating closely with Back End engineering teams. \n
- Experience building responsive, accessible and maintainable user interfaces. \n
- Good understanding of component-based development and design system principles. \n
- Experience using Git within agile delivery environments. \n
\nDesirable Experience\n

- Experience working with Figma and modern UX/design workflows. \n
- Experience with Material UI, GOV.UK Design System, MOD design patterns or equivalent component frameworks. \n
- Experience developing workflow-driven applications. \n
- Experience implementing secure authentication and role-based access control. \n
- Experience developing search-led user interfaces. \n
- Experience supporting applications deployed in classified or highly regulated environments. \n
\nMandatory Requirements\n

- Current DV Security Clearance. \n
- Ability to work onsite at an MOD location in London four days per week. \n
- Previous experience delivering within MOD, Defence, Defence Intelligence, Strategic Command or wider National Security organisations. \n
- Comfortable working with OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE and classified material where authorised. \n

- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders. \n
- A practical understanding of agile delivery and modern Front End engineering. \n
- Awareness of secure system delivery, accreditation considerations and operational governance. \n
Rate: £500-£540 per day (Outside IR35)
