Are you a passionate PE Teacher looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people with additional needs?

We are recruiting for a SEND Teacher with a PE specialism to join a small, therapeutic specialist provision supporting students aged 11-19 with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), and associated learning difficulties. The school supports a maximum of 36 students, creating a truly personalised approach to education with excellent staff-to-student ratios and a strong focus on relationship-based learning.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to pupils with SEND.
  • \n
  • Motivate and inspire students to develop physically, socially, and emotionally.
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff to support individual learning plans.
  • \n
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
  • \n
  • Lead and oversee the PE curriculum, ensuring it meets educational standards and provides meaningful learning experiences.
  • \n
  • Candidates holding a Level 5 teaching qualification will be considered, although QTS is preferred and may be required for curriculum oversight responsibilities.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or a Level 5 teaching qualification.
  • \n
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, or similar needs.
  • \n
  • A resilient, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • \n
  • Passion for helping young people overcome challenges and succeed both in and out of the classroom.
  • \n
  • Strong PE subject knowledge with the ability to engage students of varying abilities.
  • \n
