This assignment allows you to support three schools with a Pre-K through elementary caseload, playing a crucial role in shaping the occupational therapy program and individual education plans (IEPs). Qualifications:

  • Valid (or eligibility for) Washington State ESA certificate as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience or training in school-based OT, preferably for Pre-K/Elementary students
  • Knowledge of:
    • Implicit bias, culturally responsive and anti-racist practices
    • Trauma-informed and whole child behavioral supports (Tier 1-3)
    • Special education regulations and confidentiality laws
  • Willingness to train in restraint/aversive interventions

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver OT services across three schools (schedule established after year begins)
  • Collaborate in planning and continuous improvement of OT programs
  • Actively support and develop IEPs
  • Ensure practices meet or exceed state, district, and federal guidelines
